This time I started with a tutorial from David Finch about his process to draw the human body in a dynamic way. He goes through the muscles and there connections. Tells and shows you about inking(line weight) and goes further with that by lighting the characters completely by adding shadow areas. He is a cartoonist and did draw a lot of the marvel characters. So that means its a good start to get familiar with the human body in a doable way. I learned a lot this way just by trying it all myself and pausing when needed. His blog: (

On the right side you can see how I started with a sketch of the muscles and slowly gave the lines more weight and in the end gave it the needed shadows by using a single light source coming from the top left. I also used my eraser a lot more because of the different stadiums. When I finished the sketch of all the muscles I erased it
softly and started to add only the most important muscle lines and after that the shadows. I loved watching this tut so thnx Dave!
